My Story
My story with Scentsy starts in 2004! I was looking for a way to stay home with my 2 year old son. My friend Jorene had just signed up to be a consultant with this new "start-up" company. She told me about it and what a great product the had and that I should join. I told her NO....I didn't want to be part of a fly by night company. I wanted to be involved with a company with longevity! I wanted something that would provide some income for my family, but allow me to be with my family. So, I said no to Scentsy, and Yes to The Body Shop at Home! Well, things didn't go so well with BSAH. Few parties were to be found, and trying to explain the ingredients of so many products was tiresome! I loved the product, I just didn't love selling it.....so I quit. I continued working my full time job at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. I was making good money and liked my job. I had a second baby in 2006, and life continued one. Every day I went to work was difficult at best, I really really wanted to find a way to stay home. I went so far as to write Oprah a letter asking for her to do a show on LEGITIMATE work at home businesses. I had looked into so many and none of them had the "right" fit for my family. Fast forward to May 2007. A co-worker was looking at a catalog with cute candle warmers. I asked what it was...she told me her friend Jorene was selling these wickless candles. I had NEVER seen the catalog....so I looked. I fell in love with the cute warmer on the front of the catalog....Shabby Chic! I HAD to have it just because it was so cute. So with out smelling any scents, I told Jorene to pick me out a few and to order me the warmer. I got the product and loved it. So cute, and it made my office space smell great! My parents came up for a visit, and my mom came into my office. She noticed the warmer and commented on how cute it was, and how great it smelled as soon as she came into the bank. She wanted one! So I called Jorene, she set up a time for us to go to her house and pick out a warmer....in the mean time, my sister gets into town. She wants to go with us. Then my mom says to me....I think you should sign up. Then I'll sign up under you. I still wasn't sold on "selling" the product. I told her to sign up, and I'd think about it.....I thought about it, and decided to sell....but still decided to sign up under my mom...after all, I decided I was going to go FAR with this company, and I wanted to help provide my parents some income in their retirement! So my mom signed up. I went back and forth with myself for another few days, but finally signed up on June 11, 2007. Then, I DID NOTHING!!! Jorene invited me to convention, and I fell in LOVE, not just with the product, but with the company! These people truely cared not about the almight dollar, but about each and every one of us! Orville and Heidi mingled with the consultants as their friends, not as their employees! I was so impressed. I decided I'd better figure out how to get started. I did my Launch Party in August 2007. As they say, the rest is history!! I became Certified in August 2007, Lead, September 2007, Star October 2007, and Director in November 2007. I quit my 15 year career with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in May 2008 (one month less than my goal of June 2008). I became a Star Director in October of 2009. I missed my goal of Super Star Director in November 2009, and have reset that goal to June 2010. I will go to convention as a Super Star Director! My life has finally become my own. I have grown as a person in every aspect! I feel more confident as an individual. I feel I'm a better wife and mother by being home and providing for my family. I really don't enjoy "cleaning" my house, so I plan on getting someone else to do that task soon, so I can focus on what is truely important to me....spending quality time with my family! I work my Scentsy business around my family needs. I have never felt so blessed in all my life. It is rewarding to know I am providing a quality product that is free from the hazards of a flame to friends, family and new friends I'm making. I love working with my team, and I'm excited with every achievement they make. Scentsy has changed my life in more ways I can list. I love the product and I love the company. There isn't much more I can say beyond, except I'd love you to join the journey with me.
